Downtown Westerly-Pawcatuck is a charming collection of old buildings filled with unique shops, galleries, salons and nightlife. Striking landmark buildings are home to an array of creative businesses as well as a variety of service related ones. Joined by a bridge between the two towns in two states, Downtown invites you to stroll and meander.
Downtown boasts a beautiful library which is part of historic Wilcox Park where Shakespeare in the Park is held every summer along with the POPS and the Virtu Art Festival. Wilcox Park provides the community with a place for passive recreation, and to serve as a venue for cultural and educational programs which are free and open to the public. The park is on the National Register of Historic Places since 1973 as Wilcox Park Historic District which has 14 acres and is considered an arboretum.
We are also home to a winter ice skating rink provided by the Washington Trust Bank, as well as a Farmer’s Market held on Thursdays all summer.
The Westerly Pawcatuck Downtown Business Association (DBA) focus is to support a vibrant downtown for all to enjoy. The DBA works hard to develop partnerships with new and established business in the downtown to improve and nurture our downtown as “main street matters” to all in the surrounding communities.
